Pre-book these nights: how does this works?

If you follow us on Instagram, you know that the B&B rooms have not yet been built. Don’t worry: We’ll make sure the rooms are ready once you’ll arrive. 😉 From November we’ll start building the rooms and it’s not depending on your pre-bookings.

That’s why you can’t book dates yet, but you can already purchase your nights. As soon as the B&B is finished (according to the beginning of the plan) you can book your rooms.

You basically buy a voucher which is valuable for 3 years after the official opening.

The plan

The renovation will start at the beginning of November and the first 2 rooms are expected to be delivered from mid-February (yes, it's still Spain, right?). We are keeping our fingers crossed and want to open the May holidays in 2024
The pre-sale of the rooms starts now! As a 'friend of Finca Escondida' (well, we consider you that as a loyal follower!) - you can now purchase nights at a reduced price. You can use this voucher for 3 years after opening our finca.
Our booking site opens a few weeks before we receive the first guests. If you have already purchased nights in this presale, we'll inform you first and you can choose between all dates. Only a day later will we open the booking site to 'the general public'.
The price you pay for a night in advance is guaranteed to be the lowest price in the high season! Book your nights in advance and benefit. 🤑

The number of nights you purchase for this price can be used until August 31, 2027 (at opening 2024), after which the pre-booking will expire. If we open later, the vouchers will remain valid longer
Have you purchased the voucher? We will inform you first! Only a day later can the 'general public' choose dates.
The advance booking is subject to availability.
The interior in the photos is an example and subject to changes.
Would you like to book additional nights later? You do this for the normal price that applies on the website at that time. So it pays to book more nights now in advance.
The price you pay here per night is guaranteed to be the lowest price.
You cannot exchange the voucher for money

Meet 'the parents'

You might soon be our guest… So let’s introduce ourselves.

We are Jody and Sander, world travelers by heart. In 2019 we exchanged our salaried jobs, social circle in the Netherlands and Sander’s apartment in Breda for adventure. We wanted to work where and when we wanted and ultimate freedom was our goal.

We worked from the most beautiful places (Thailand, Colombia and Mexico – to name a few) and learned a lot about ourselves and other cultures. In 2021 we stayed in Colombia and dreamed about our future home (and B&B) in Spain. We started doing some preliminary research to *someday* make that dream come turue. Little did we know that, a few moments later, we were already diving into the Spanish housemarket.

After dozens of viewings, several offers, a disappointment here and there and many lessons about the Spanish housing market, we have finally found our dream home in Xàtiva. Where we hope to welcome you from 2024, so that we can hopefully get to know you better!

Why 'Finca Escondida'?

You probably don’t take the answer ‘why not’ for granted, do you? 😉

The moment we walked through the gates of this estate (without expectations) we knew: this is the house. In one fell swoop we forgot all the disappointments and frustrations during previous experiences in Spain. As soon as we entered the garden we felt like we were in another world, a kind of hidden gem that you prefer to keep to yourself.

The name fits it perfectly: ‘finca’ means ‘estate’ and ‘escondida’ means ‘hidden’. Our hidden estate – but one we are too proud of not to share with you. At the same time, it is also a nod to our beautiful travels – In 2021 we stayed in ‘Puerto Escondido’ (‘hidden harbor’) in Mexico, another hidden gem.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can you spread the nights over multiple bookings?

Yes that is allowed! The minimum length of stay per time is 2 nights. So you can book 5 nights and plan 1 stay of 2 nights and 1 stay of 3 nights on another date.

I want to book more nights, what should I do?

Yoohoo! How cool that you are so enthusiastic. For example, do you want to book 9 nights? You can combine the amounts (for example, pay 1x 2 nights and pay 1x 7 nights). You do not have to fill out the form twice.

Can I gift nights to someone else?

Yes, that's possible! If you want to stay for 3 nights and give someone else 2 nights as a gift, you can book 5 nights in one go. After payment, send an email to info@thedutchnomads.nl and specify the names of the guests + number of nights. We will then ensure that everything is arranged administratively and guests can book directly with us at the time of opening.

When can I redeem my vouchers?

The moment the B&B is delivered! So you won't end up in a ruin, of course. 😉 You will receive an email (at the address you indicated in the form here) when you can book. This is one day before we open to the "general public". The exact date is not yet known, but it is planned to be spring 2024.

Until when can I use my voucher?

Your vouchers are valid for 3 years from opening. If everything goes according to plan, you can exchange them until August 2027. You will receive a final confirmation of this upon opening.

About Xàtiva

Lastly, an answer to the question: ‘Is Xàtiva fun to visit?’ We may be a bit biased, but we can answer this wit a certain ‘YES’. This town is an hour drive from Valencia and you can combine it nicely with a city trip or road trip through the entire ‘Comunidad Valenciana’. We have already driven quite a few kilometers here with our Chevrolet Aveo, so we can certainly inform you about this.

Xàtiva is known for:

The pleasant and cozy center: there is still a real Spanish atmosphere here.
Almost no foreigners – it’s a typical Spanish city
The ‘Fira d’Agost’: the August festivities. In the last week of August they organize a fair, exhibitions and parties. An amazing experience!
And of course the famous castle of Xàtiva, which attracts many tourists every year (and where a Star Wars series was recently filmed!)

To get here, it is best to fly to Valencia (possibly Alicante, which is a slightly longer drive) and rent a rental car for the period. Rent prices are currently low and we are located between the mountains – so it’s nice if you are not dependent on transport if you want to enjoy a ‘cafe con leche’ or paella in the center ;-).
